Theory-crafting 101: The Real Super Namekian

Hey everyone! It’s time to get Huge!

Today’s “Theory-crafting 101” article is on the last true Super Namekian himself, Lord Slug! As with all of our articles in this series, the deck provided is a single take on the numerous things you can accomplish with this combination. Likely, through testing you will find cards you want to change and update, or perhaps take a new perspective on the deck entirely, and that’s perfectly fine! We are just trying to help get those creative juices flowing and remind people that there are lots of strategies out in the wild to look at!

What Are We Trying to Accomplish?

This particular build of Lord Slug is trying to capitalize on the Physical aspect that Lord Slug brings to deck construction. While our main win condition is DB Victory, don’t sell this Super Namekian short on the amount of Stage Damage this deck can put out either.

With Orange being such a prominent force in the Tournament scene, this list tries to take advantage of the number of destroying and banishing effects added to Namekian as of late. Being able to control your opponent’s board is going to be a huge concern for most decks as we move deeper into this Season’s OP Events.

As with most Namekian Builds, this deck is capable of leveling rather quickly, however MPPV will unfortunately be off the table thanks to Lord Slug’s level 4. However, his level 4 does make for a versatile tool, allowing us to focus on DB Victory if we are close or allowing us to drop back down to his Level 3 and continue the stage pressure on our opponent.

While we won’t be able to get use out of the mill aspect of our Mastery, as it has been updated to reference Namek Dragon Balls only, the power of the Earth Dragon Balls is just too good not to consider. Should you prefer playing the Namek Dragon Balls instead, you should find the majority of this list will still work nicely around them.

The Power Is Yours!

Thanks again for checking out this week’s article. As always, I hope that this helps you take a look at some of the options that are out there in the card pool. I look forward to any comments or critiques, and hope that we can learn something about the physical aspect of the Namekian Style.

Please make sure to cast your vote below for next week’s article. Don’t forget, even if your choice is not selected for next week, the 2nd and 3rd most popular options will return to be voted on again next week! It’s only a matter of time until we see the list you want, as long as you get out there and let your voice be heard!

Until next time, FanZ Warriors!
